My Music

From light to sound

Hard to imagine a movie without music -famous scenes in cinema's history, such as the shower scene in Hitchcocks „Psycho“, the attacking white shark in „jaws“ with the minimalistic two-tone-loop-soundtrack, laser sword fighting with the famous Star Wars Theme in the background and last but not least - Stanley Kubrick´s „Space Odyssey“ with its awesome and impressing pictures of space supported by the orchestral music of Richard Strauss. None of these movies could work without the mutual support of light and sound. But does this relationship also work in the contrary direction?

Is there any good music that doesn’t initiate pictures?

Once again Richard Strauss: The Germany composer can be quoted with his very simple and straight definition of good music:

„If it generates pictures in my mind its good music, if it does not I’m not interested.“

I totally agree.

For me, the only reason for listening to music - of relevance, no elevator or dancehall sound, bound to stimulate dancing legs - is its potential. to stimulate my mind and imagination.

And from there it is where music comes from. First there’s a picture - I just create a sound for it.

So when i did the videos your'e about to see, I tried to copy the pictures in my mind that inspired me. Lots of pictures: Historic steam trains, a beautiful place i'd like to be, futuristic fighter jets, political issues, jamming
with some good friends in a jazz club etc.

So I hope you like what you hear - and see!
